So I thought I'd update this in case anyone actually read it and wanted to know what happened after I got my big fat positive on the pregnancy test. I'm almost 21 weeks along. . .oh how time flies.
- My progesterone dropped very low the first few weeks. Thank god I was making them test for it (and everything else). Once I got on the supplements, I was fine until the placenta took over ~9 weeks.
- We were sure it was a boy at the 9 week ultrasound. My husband was bummed - I was a LITTLE bit bummed - but also psyched because I know what to do with boys - and because we have lots of boy stuff
- The CVS 2 weeks later told us otherwise: Girl. Healthy healthy girl.
- My mom got to see an U/S at 16 weeks - she's never seen one (nor been pregnant - I'm adopted) and she was THRILLED. That was very cool for me.
- I have my Anatomy scan on Monday (21 weeks) - that is my second to last major hurdle. I'm hoping the heart etc look ok. I had a family friend who found holes in the heart at her anatomy scan and had to terminate as the prognosis was 100% bad. The baby would not survive outside the womb. That would be messed up for me to get this far and have that happen.
- Then I just need to wait another month till the baby is viable and, even if she came early, I know that she could have a real chance at surviving. Then I'll breathe.
- I can feel her moving. She likes to do flips.
